Masterful folk music with a fresh attitude!

Nordic is one of the most famous and distinctive folk music groups in Sweden. The style of this award-winning trio has developed and evolved over many years.

Their infectious joy and their connection with audiences has led to numerous engagements in Sweden and to regular performances at international festivals. Recently Nordic has collaborated with classical ensembles in Sweden.
The roots of their style lie in folk music, but they are eager to experiment and challenge such stereotypes. They allow spontaneity to call out new re- sponses as the Swedish key harp, the mandolin, and cello interract. The band’s unique sound is characterised by story-telling melodies and challenging rhythms. The fresh and unexpected results could be described as a kind of cinematic mixture of sounds, rhythms, groove, reggae, and improvisation.

Magnus Zetterlund - mandolin

Magnus Zetterlund (b.1980) is an award-winning mandolin player and instructor from Sweden. He is a prominent musician on the Scandinavian folk scene, collaborating with leading artists in Norway, Finland, and Sweden.

He is a passionate mandolin instructor and the founder of Mandolin Secrets, an online platform that helps mandolinists take their playing to the next level. His YouTube channel has provided weekly inspiration and value since late 2017, and the tutorials now have more than 1,100,000 views.

Erik Rydvall - nyckelharpa

Nyckelharpa player Erik Rydvall has steadily risen to stardom on the Swedish folk-music scene. His personal expression, virtuosity, and drive to seek out new challenges has made him a highly sought-after musician, often for cross-genre collaboration.

Erik Rydvall’s most recent project, playing Baroque music on nyckelharpa, has attracted an audience beyond folk music and interest the world over.

During the last years Erik has also been featured in videogames and movies like: Lord of the Rings - The rings of power, Loki, Vikings Valhalla, God of War, Assasins Creed - Dawn of Ragnarøk and The Witcher - Blood Origin.

Anders Löfberg - cello

Anders grew up in the folk music milieu of Småland. He played the fiddle, learning primarily from his parents, and early on became familiar with dance tunes. He has a degree from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with fiddle and cello as his principle instruments. Anders has worked with musicians such as Roger Tallroth, Annbjørg Lien, Bjarke Falgren, Darol Anger, Mike Marshall, Ryan Drickey, the Norwegian folk rock band Valkyrien Allstars, Susanne Rosenberg, Anne Hytta, Gjermund Larsen, Filip Jers and more. Anders is also a talented double bass player and has played, amongst other things, klezmer, jazz and reggae.

Within theatre, storytelling and dance, Anders is a much-appreciated musician and dancer, and has participated in productions with Västanå teater, Norska Riksteatern, RESiDANS, Villniss, Fabula Storytelling, and with names such as Leif Stinnerbom, Carl-Olof Berg, Susanne Marko, Kersti Ståbi, Anna Öberg and Silje Onstad Hålien.

Although traditional folk music lies close to Anders’ heart, this in no way contradicts a desire to develop folk music, which also makes him a creative, experimental and responsive musician. Rhythm, pulse and improvisation are regular features in his music.

Apart from Nordic, Anders can be heard together with Emilia Amper , Anna Lindblad and Pelle Björnlert
